Natalie Cox offers a safe, supportive, and collaborative space for clients to heal, grow, and reach their full potential. She is passionate about helping adult (18+) clients unlock deeper self-awareness, self-acceptance, connection, and meaning in their lives.
Natalie sees individuals struggling with depression, anxiety, life transitions, relationship issues, grief, work-life challenges, complex trauma, substance use, existential concerns, low self-esteem, among other difficulties. Natalie also works with individuals who have experienced religious trauma and challenges in high control, fundamentalist environments.
With compassion and kindness, she guides clients through an exploration of unconscious responses to their environment, relationships, family history, and conflicts, in order to help reconnect with a deeper sense of themselves and the world around them.
While her work is integrative and tailored to meet the unique needs of her clients, Natalie frequently incorporates family systems, Psychodynamic and Psychoanalytic approaches into her therapy sessions. Believing strongly in the importance of the mind-body connection, Natalie introduces elements of Somatic therapy into her work with clients. Additionally, she empowers clients with religious trauma to build a healthier, deeper relationship with their body, sensuality, and sexuality.
Prior to entering the field of therapy, Natalie was a professional artist, illustrator, designer, and photographer, and tends to invite creativity into the therapy room and healing process, through creative and expressive art exercises. She also utilizes a Jungian approach to dreams and welcomes clients’ dreams into the therapeutic space, for those who wish to explore them.
Natalie is a Marriage and Family Therapist Intern, supervised by Dr. Laura Anderson, PhD, LMFT (TN#976) in the State of Tennessee. She is also being mentored by Dr. Daniel Goldstein, Clinical Director at Nashville Psych. Natalie earned a Masters of Arts Counseling Psychology with an Emphasis in Marriage and Family Therapy and Depth Psychology from Pacifica Graduate Institute in California.
In her free time, Natalie enjoys reading, gardening, illustrating, spending time with friends and family, and connecting in nature.
