Nisha Bhatt, PsyD

Nisha Bhatt, PsyD, a Nashville, Tennessee-based clinical psychologist, works with adults, teens, and couples to help overcome challenges, heal from trauma, and ultimately reach their full potential. With warmth, understanding, and an emphasis on the therapeutic relationship, Dr. Bhatt encourages and empowers her clients to express themselves freely, build insight, strengthen emotional self-awareness, and promote personal growth. 

Dr. Bhatt works with clients who are struggling with anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, panic attacks, post traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), grief and loss/bereavement, self-esteem, boundaries, adjustment issues, existential concerns, Borderline Personality Disorder (BPD), LGBTQIA+ issues, chronic health conditions, dependent personality disorder, substance use, Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), and Mild Neurocognitive Disorder. 

In her work with individuals, Nisha is client-centered, seeking to understand, first and foremost, what each client would like to get out of therapy. Utilizing an integrative approach, she customizes her support to help meet the unique needs of each individual client. She conceptualizes cases from a humanistic existential/psychodynamic perspective and applies that understanding to her therapy work, which also frequently incorporates Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. 

As a couples counselor, Nisha helps clients resolve communication problems and intimacy issues, which often go hand in hand. She encourages couples to deepen their relationship with their own self which empowers healing within the partnership.

In addition to her therapy work with individuals and couples, Dr. Bhatt conducts psychoeducational evaluations for ADHD, Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), mood and personality disorders, learning difficulties, and other psychological concerns. 

Dr. Bhatt earned her Doctor of Psychology degree and Masters of Arts in Clinical Psychology from Midwestern University.  Prior to that, she was awarded a Bachelor of Science degree in Cognitive Behavioral Neuroscience from Loyola University Chicago. She is a member of the American Psychological Association. 

In her free time, Nisha enjoys spending quality time with family and friends, hiking with her dog, Bollywood dancing, and reading.
