Taeja Mitchell, MS

[/mk_fancy_title][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width=”4/6″][vc_column_text el_class=”dv-f-2″]Taeja Mitchell is a kind, supportive and empathetic therapist-trainee with a passion for helping clients experience healing and growth in a warm, authentic, and non-judgmental space. She is dedicated to guiding her clients through the healing process, helping them change unhealthy patterns that no longer serve them, and working with them to reach their full potential.

Taeja enjoys working with adult and teen clients struggling with a wide range of difficulties, including anxiety, depression, trauma, work issues, relationship struggles, and life transitions. She also has a special interest in working with underrepresented communities, marginalized communities, and communities of color to provide therapy and combat the stigma of mental health.

Before enrolling in her current doctoral program, the Counseling Psychology PhD program at Tennessee State University, Taeja earned a Master of Science degree in Clinical Psychology from Northwestern State University of Louisiana. She is a student member of the American Psychological Association and a member of the Association of Black Psychologists chapter at TSU.

As part of her training, Taeja has worked with college students in individual and group therapy at a University Counseling Center; offered prolonged exposure therapy with veterans; conducted psychological and neurological assessments; and treated diverse populations of adults and adolescents at a behavioral health center.

In her free time, Taeja enjoys spending time with friends and family, reading, watching Marvel movies and TV shows and collecting vinyl records.

Please note: Therapist-trainees who are chosen for practicum/internship at Nashville Psych are carefully selected as a result of their strengths in the areas of education, experience, interests and unique skills. Each therapist-trainee is supervised and mentored by Nashville Psych Co-Founder Dr. Daniel Goldstein.
