About Groups At Nashville Psych
In the field of counseling, there are many different types of groups that individuals can join. Nashville Psych offers several interpersonal process groups to satisfy individuals’ needs for connection/community, support and challenge.
While the idea of sharing personal challenges in a group may sound overwhelming to some, this approach can be quite effective and group members are often surprised by how much they enjoy and deeply benefit from the experience. Interpersonal process groups are intended to help individuals whose issues center on relationship difficulties, leading to increased awareness through here-and-now interactions with peers.
The climate of trust found in group therapy, the understanding that group members share many of our struggles and the constructive and supportive feedback provided by other group members will make us feel increasingly more eager to open up about our thoughts and feelings during each session. The more members collaborate and share, the more everyone benefits from the experience.
With the support of your group, you can naturally become more self-aware, develop better communication strategies, improve relationship skills and gain healthier coping mechanisms.
