Do you wonder if you or someone you love has ADHD or learning, developmental/emotional or behavioral disorders?
People seek assessment for a variety of reasons: behavioral problems at school, work or at home; obtaining academic accommodations (extended time for exams, for example); distinguishing between, anxiety, depression and ADHD; identifying learning disorders; determining if a child is “gifted”; and concerns about autism spectrum disorder, among others.
Assessments are effective in gathering the information needed to accurately diagnose disorders and provide detailed recommendations on how to best treat and manage them.
Nashville Psych performs brief and comprehensive psychological evaluation and/or psycho-educational assessments for children (age 6 and up), adolescents and adults to provide you with the answers you are seeking.
How it works:
- The first step of psychological assessment typically begins with an interview and gathering background information, which includes completion of the Developmental History Questionnaire by a parent or someone who is familiar with your or your child’s development. This initial step will help determine what specific areas or behaviors are problematic for you or your child.
- Next, we will select and administer psychological tests that are aimed at assessing specific domains or skills. This may take place over the course of one or more days, depending on your availability.
- We will then gather and organize the data into a formal report, which we will review with you in a feedback session. In the report, we provide you with specific feedback and recommendations regarding ongoing treatment and management of difficulties, with the utmost intentionality and sensitivity.
- After the assessment is complete and recommendations have been given, we would be happy to provide you with appropriate referrals and answer any additional questions you may have.
